People can interpret anything form a product into an emotion. We react to little things so dramatically that anything be a big factor in the success or failure of a product; magazines are no exception to this. Fonts, while simple on the surface, are a big part of a magazines. They're what the reader is seeing constantly throughout the article and have psychological effects on the reader. Fonts and Their Effects

There are many different kinds of fonts, also known as typefaces serif, sans-serif and script; they are many fonts under these categories.

Serif: It's used to represent respect and trust in a brand. This typeface is great for law firms, banks, and other brands that rely heavily on trust.

Sans Serif: Modern, this typeface is a modern and sleek font style. This fort is preferred by tech companies and people who want to viewed as simple and progressive.

Script: The other typefaces don't have a personal feel to them, however script mimics handwriting to give a fancy and sophisticated feel to a logo. Tons of food brands use script, however children companies and fashion brands also use this font frequently.

Why is This Important

Like I said before, fonts can determine the success of a product, font psychology allows you to choose the correct fonts for your product. If a wrong font is chosen it changes the way your audience interprets it. If you advertise your tech company with a serif font, more than likely people wouldn't take you seriously as it would look like you aren't progressive. People will not see worth their time. People determine if they like another thing in 30 seconds, if they don't care, more than likely you've lost their interest. One of the things people see the most of in those 30 seconds is the font you used. It may take years to find the right one, but it's worth it.
